Raznosoly is an old Leningrad band that plays both happy and sad Soviet songs from ‘50s-‘70s (“Leytenant molodoy i krasiviy” (Young and handsome lieutenant), “Kogda fonariki kachautsya nochnie” (When the night lights swing), “Lublyu tsigana Yana” (Love the gypsy Yan), “Shkola balnih tantsev” (Ballroom dancing school), “Dejurny po aprelu” (On duty in April) etc.)

Raznosoly’s music is a crazy, mind-blowing and exciting post-modernistic nostalgia show!

They will play the best of both worlds for you!

And now the artistic, outrageous and crazy-talented members of this band:

  • Sergunya Peregar: vocals and declamation
  • Alesya Chernaya: violin
  • Voldemar Bant: banjo and drums
  • Leha Dvurukij: garmon
  • Stan Americanets: guitar
  • Serenya Tosnensky: double bass

Raznosoly make every show the time of your life where you can dance your heart out!

And here are some of the questions the band answered for the Vash Dosug magazine:

The magazine: Tell us about the history of the band and your style. What made you choose this particular name? What’s the meaning behind it and who came up with it?

Raznosoly: VIA Raznosoly accidently came to life in 1994 in the “Malinovy pidjak” restaurant. There was a meeting of some anonymous important people, but the musicians didn’t show up because they were afraid to go through the same stuff that happened last evening.

As a result some visitors and members of the staff formed a band on the spot. Feeling extra emotional, Misha Plugavij started to throw money and food at the musicians, which gave the band a name “VIA Raznosoly i drugaya eda so stola” (VIA (stands for vocal&instrumental ensemble) Pickles and other food). Later we made the name shorter – VIA Raznosoly.

These guys had to perform the famous hits in their unique quirky style they’re still true to every evening until the restaurant closed and Misha Plugavij passed away.

The magazine: It’s quite hard to make it in the music industry today. Do you think a band name can help you to stand out?

Raznosoly: We don’t think that every single band can do it. You have to have cool costumes and connections with big restaurateurs in order to get noticed.

The magazine: What are your plans for the future?

Raznosoly: We’re in crises right now – E.Pluschenko doesn’t want to take part in our ice show, so now our tour plans are ruined for the next two years.
