Slavyansky Kitsch perform Onega, Belarusian and Cossack folk songs as well as rare songs from the ‘60s written for the gusli&bayan ensemble (“Barinya” (Lady), “Uralskaya plyasovaya” (Ural dance song), “Vniz po Volge-reke” (Down the Volga River), “Yablonka” (Apple tree) etc.) Gusli&bayan are a must, next comes the song!

Slavyansky Kitsch was created in April of 2012 by two independent musicians – Maxim Anukhin and Alexander Ezhov. Their goal was to go on tour to Europe in April and May, visiting Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Czech Republic. After coming back home they continued performing together. Slavyansky Kitsch recorded their first album “SAMOPAL” in September of 2012. The songs were recorded live and album’s budget was 100$.

Members:

Maxim Anukhin: master of gusli improvisation with a degree in music, who had been teaching gusli in a Vsevolozhsk music school for 6 years. His students took part in various competitions in both Russia and abroad.

Besides teaching Maxim also tours quite a lot: he performed with the Izba-trio in 2006-2010, Moscow circus in 26 American states, Obereg ensemble in Germany and France in 2005 and HVARNA in Central Europe in 2010-2012.

Maxim is a creator and frontman of a Slavic music ensemble Obereg, Belorussian and Finno-Ugric music ensemble Hvarna, a member of S.A.M.H.E.Y (mix of Slavic and Indian music). He also does solo performances and master classes. Besides gusli Maxim plays the pipe, zhaleika, Jew’s harp, shaman tambourine and kalyuka.


Sanya Ezhov: a talented and artistic bayan player with a degree in music. He’s been performing with the La minor ensemble in Russia, Europe and Scandinavia as well as with Surganova i orkestr, Billy’s band and Markscheider Кunst. A great lad indeed!
